Description

Students will learn about the Wage Theft Prevention Act passed in 2019. The course covers the following:

  • Administrative requirements for new hires and ongoing recordkeeping requirements.
  • The distinction between an exempt and non-exempt employee under the FLSA.
  • The difference between an employee and an independent contractor using the 9-factor test and control and ongoing business rules, and the penalties for misclassification.
