Description

This course evaluates major design parameters and life safety applications that are found in both the 2020 Minnesota Residential Code and the Wisconsin Uniform Dwelling Code. Emphasis on historical data for a specific provision is discussed as well as application of the requirement.

This course has been approved for two hours of MN residential contractor, remodeler, and building official continuing education by the Minnesota Department of Labor & Industry, and two hours of WI Dwelling Contractor Qualifier by the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.

Code Educational Opportunities


Greg is the owner of Code Educational Opportunities and has an extensive background in developing and presenting all types of building code and related courses. Most recently, he was a building official for the City of Winona, MN. As a staff Instructor with the International Code Council and as a building code representative with the State of Minnesota Codes and Standards Division, He has traveled locally, throughout the United States, and abroad providing training to contractors, building officials and inspectors, design professionals, and other individuals with a vested interest in the codes. Greg served as an adjunct faculty in the Building Inspection Technology program at Inver Hills Community College in MN. In previous career paths, he has worked in the lumber industry, truss industry, and as a general contractor. Greg holds certifications as an ICC and State of MN Certified Building Official, ICC Plans Examiner, ICC Building Inspector, and ICC Building Code Specialist. Greg holds a certificate of completion in the Building Inspection Technology program as well as background and education in the architectural drafting field.
